PSU hosts annual Dance Showcase

Monday, March 6, is a day dedicated to lovers of dance as PSU hosts the second annual Dance Showcase at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. The event, which is free, takes place at 7 p.m. in the Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall.

Janice Jewett, a member of the faculty in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation, said the event celebrates the value of dance.

“Whether you're a performer or an audience member, dance can be beneficial and powerful in a number of ways,” Jewett said.

The showcase features PSU students who are minoring in dance and/or are seeking a certificate in dance. Numerous other groups will perform, as well. Those scheduled include the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department Dance Company, the Y Academy of Dance, the Dance Pitt, Ovation Studios, Karen's Dance Studio, Midwest Regional Ballet, Linn County Dance and Cheer, the PSU Crimson and Gold Dance Team, the PHS Dance Team, the FHS Dance Team, the PSU Dance Club, and Pittsburg Community Theatre.

For more information, call Jewett at 620-235-4669.
